Science Olympiad encourages interest in science and provides recognition for outstanding achievement in science by both students and teachers. Each year, approximately twelve to twenty-four 4th and 5th students who excel in science and have a demonstrated interest to learn and do more in the area of science are invited to represent MOT Charter School at the annual Science Olympiad competition held at St. Mark’s High School.

4th Grade Science Olympiad
Sixteen 4th grade students competed in the Science Olympiad competition held at St. Mark’s High School. Participants had been busy researching and practicing hands-on experiments since December. This was a very rewarding experience for all involved, instilling a deeper appreciation for mathematics and science. Several students placed and received medals for their efforts. The results are as follows:
1st Place – Grab-a-Gram
3rd Place – Don’t Bug Me; Write It/ Do It; Interpreting Graphs; Scavenger Hunt
5th Place – Chopper Challenge; Food Science
