Conferences will be held Nov. 23rd and 24th.  I look forward to meeting with each of you to share your student’s accomplishments and goals.

In Theme and Language Arts we are diving into our unit on Immigration.  The students will be analyzing pictures, reading articles and short stories to gather information.  In small groups we will be reading a story titled, Molly’s Pilgrims and responding to text dependent questions.  Students will also begin a Narrative Prompt that requires the students to pull information from a variety of sources to complete the task.

We will also be working on writing our Thankful Books.  These will be presented to you during conferences.

In Math we are continuing our unit on Multiplication and Division.  We will be analyzing and looking for patterns within the multiplication chart.  Students will also create arrays and look for patterns in the shapes of the arrays that certain numbers can make.  For example, some numbers have only one array (Prime Numbers) and other numbers make square arrays (Square Numbers).  We will then move into Division.  Students will explore ways to break numbers up equally, how to write division sentences, and the relationship between multiplication and division.

As always if you ever have any questions please feel free to contact me.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_btn title=”VIEW GRADE ON HOME ACCESS” style=”modern” shape=”rounded” color=”primary” size=”md” align=”center” i_align=”left” i_type=”fontawesome” i_icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-adjust” i_icon_openiconic=”vc-oi vc-oi-dial” i_icon_typicons=”typcn typcn-adjust-brightness” i_icon_entypo=”entypo-icon entypo-icon-note” i_icon_linecons=”vc_li vc_li-heart” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fhac.doe.k12.de.us%2FHomeAccess%2FAccount%2FLogOn%3FReturnUrl%3D%252fhomeaccess%252f|title:HOME%20ACCESS|target:%20_blank” button_block=”” add_icon=”” i_icon_pixelicons=”vc_pixel_icon vc_pixel_icon-alert”][vc_column_text]
