After a 7 year career working or Sears as a Repair Technician, Mr. Don Whitaker discovered his love for teaching and enrolled at Wilmington College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2005 with a degree in Middle School Education.  While at Wilmington College, Mr. Whitaker earned the following honors:  Academic Dean’s List, Division of Education Scholarship, Christa McAuliffe Scholarship and was inducted into the following honor societies: Delta Epsilon Rho Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society and National Honor Society. Prior to attending Wilmington College, Mr. Whitaker graduated from Delaware Technical and Community College with an A.S. in Marketing and Management and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Mr. Whitaker began his teaching career as a middle school math teacher at MOT in 2004, left for one year to teach at Marion T. Charter in the city of Wilmington and has been happily teaching seventh and eighth grade math at MOT ever since. Mr. Whitaker currently serves as the Math League coach for 8th grade and previously was the NJHS advisor for several years.
