Chairperson & Founding Board Member
Mrs. Jennifer Hubert Taylor is a founding board member of MOT Charter School, which was organized and incorporated in 1999. She teaches the Seventh and Eighth Grade Reader’s Workshop classes at the K-8 Academy campus. Jen is also currently the middle school volleyball coach, a member of MOT Charter’s Instructional Leadership Team, and the Chairperson of the MOT Charter School Board of Directors.
Jen’s educational passion is teaching children to love books and reading. She specializes in Teen and Young Adult fiction as well as the classics, and incorporates historical, societal, cultural, and geographical evolution into her lessons.
Jen earned her B.A in Political Science with Concentrations in both Education and Literature from the University of Delaware and her M.A. in English from Washington College. Prior to college, she was an exchange student in Arnhem, The Netherlands, and speaks almost-fluent Dutch. Jen remains very close with her Dutch host family and enjoys frequent visits.
Jen and her husband, Jim Taylor, have three children, all of whom are also students at MOT Charter: daughter Carson, son Shep, and son Clay. She enjoys traveling, gardening, cooking, reading and collecting books, and exploring her family’s Texas farm.
